Our Story
Founded in 2018 by seasoned travel enthusiasts and cultural preservation advocates, Travel Artisan began as a passion project to bridge travelers with authentic local experiences. Our founders, Sarah Mitchell and Diego Rodriguez, spent over a decade exploring remote corners of the world, building relationships with master craftspeople and cultural keepers.
What started as personal connections with local artisans has evolved into a comprehensive travel platform that celebrates traditional craftsmanship while supporting sustainable tourism. We believe that travel should be transformative, educational, and mutually beneficial for both visitors and host communities.
Today, we work with over 200 certified artisan partners across 35 countries, offering everything from pottery workshops in Peru to silk weaving experiences in Cambodia. Our mission remains unchanged: to create meaningful connections between travelers and the world's most talented craftspeople.
